The article reveals the essence of the theory of the prominent Finnish philosopher who has played an important part in awakening of the national Finnish self-awareness. On the basis of Russian and Finnish historical literature the author defines and characterizes key stages of activities of the fennomania's founder as well as describes the scientist's initiatives aimed at forming the publicity of the Finland's autonomy.
