For the first time the present paper explores historical and biographical, as well as literature and mythological origins of one mysterious poetical image by Alexander Galich, and does so from an aesthetic point of view, though inextricably connected with ethics. The article demonstrates that the poet combined in this image both elements of didactic Hasidic fable and ancient myth.
