The geopolitical trends and prospects of the geopolitical position of Great Britain, the reasons for strengthening the «special relationship» between it and USA, characteristic for the office of Antony Blair are considered. The factors that have played an important role in the choice of Britain's new foreign policy are analyzed. The authors argue that participation in a military conflict in Iraq has been detrimental to the international reputation of Great Britain which is one of the most influential actors in world politics.
