The article is devoted to consideration of a problem of history of a university science during the ambiguously estimated period in scientific literature. Mechanisms of adaptation of a humanitarian university science in the conditions of cultural and sociopolitical changes of the 1920th are designated and described: refusal of ideas of “a pure science”, inclusion of a university science in the solution of actual state tasks, a binding of problems of establishments to slogans proclaimed by the power, total politicization of a science.
