The development of Finland is examined during the presidency of Mauno Koivisto. The main goal is to study the foreign policy of Koivisto before and after Soviet Union collapse. Mauno Koivisto is presented as the politician who has changed a direction of development of Finland in the current international situation after the “era of Kekkonen”.
