A priority of the SCO is to ensure regional security and interaction of Russia and China with Central Asian States. Afghanistan as an observer in the SCO, is in the area of responsibility of the organization, therefore, the peaceful settlement of the Afghan conflict is among the most important tasks of the SCO activity.
