Tools for the selection of prospective students in British universities

Treated are the issues of the student recruitment into British universities. Considered are the main instruments of selection of prospective students to be educated by university programs, including the prior education evaluation, entrance examinations and interviews. Defined and systematized are academic and non­academic entry requirements, their specifics presented. The conducted analyses led to the conclusions about the viability of using some of the tools for the student selection into Russian higher education institutions nowadays, and also formed the basis for development of recommendations for admission of foreign students from the countries with Anglo­Saxon model of the educational system.
