In  article  “the  ethnic  paradox”  which  is  inherent  today  practically  in  all  global  world  because  the modern  mankind  constantly  faces  a  problem  of  updating  of  distinctions  –  not  only  national,  but  also cultural,  language,  confessional  is  considered.  On  an  example  of  great  Russian  writer  Lev  Nikolaevich Tolstoy influence of foreign authors on multinational society of the Ottoman Empire is traced.
