Article is devoted to the foreign policy of Finland and its international position within conflict of irreconcilable ideologies of Great Powers. Author examines core principles of J.K. Paasikivi foreign policy doctrine earmarked to foster the image of Finland as neutral state. Considering the example of Finland, author scrutinizes the transformation of USSR and USA attitudes towards neutrality as an option of foreign policy and also points to the rise of influence of neutrals in international relations after the thaw of the mid 1950s.
