        <p>The article regards housing as a significant factor of human socialization. It substantiates the role of housing in creating and updating certain social norms and behavioral patterns, guidelines for social communications. The objective of the research is to determine the background for studying housing socialization. The main approaches to studying socialization and housing apply general research methods of analysis and synthesis of information. Housing socialization is proposed to be defined as a process of forming a social experience with regard to satisfying the housing need of a person for a lifetime. The structure and functions of this process are described.</p>
