      <abstract xml:lang="en">
        <p>This article is devoted to research the phenomenon of the nation-state and its transformation in modern conditions dictated by the processes of globalization. Westphalian system, which established a national division of the world based on the idea of the state sovereignty inviolability, is experiencing an acute crisis in the XXI century. Many researchers interpret this fact as a sign of the nation-states final decay and the transition to a new world order no longer based on the concept of nation-states. The author argues that the dismantling of the Westphalian State system and the abandonment of the National Division is not possible since nation-building has not been fully completed in the XXI century; also supranational institutions and alliances, which theorists of globalization anchor their hopes, are consultative and still inferior to the power of nation-states.</p>
