The article discusses the process of Georgia’s interaction with the european union. The goal of integrating into european structures has occupied the leading position in the Georgian politics for more than 20 years. in its pursuit of national interests, Georgia is trying to use all the available potential for partnership with the eu in its foreign policy. however, the preservation of national identity in the globalizing world is a significant requirement for the Georgian societyduring this integration process. The author notes that under the circumstances when Georgia is dependent on the european political conjuncture, it does not seem possible for the country to save its own political identity and freedom of choice.
