The ethnic history of the Chuvash people, the current state of their culture, language and philosophy are considered. Philosophical categories reflecting the philosophical thinking of the people formed on the basis of mythological beliefs and traditions are analyzed. In the context of globalization the ability of national cultures to be seen as a conforming component of the global culture is becoming an important factor. Identifying themselves as a part of the Russian state, interacting with the Volga region population, the Chuvash preserved the national culture and the language, which belong to the treasury of the world culture.

The article deals with specific features of Finnish architecture in the 1920s. The author has analyzed the changes that took place in work of Lars Sonck (1870–1956) – an outstanding master, a representative of the national romantic trend and one of the founders of the Finnish school of architecture during the transition period from Art Nouveau to Neoclassicism and further to Functionalism. The projects of the Finnish architect combined the return to the principles of axial symmetry, the use of columns and the monochrome facade decoration with the further application of the elements typical of national romanticism of the turn of the century. L. Sonck’s Neoclassicism was definitely of the regional character and can be referred to as Nordic Classicism.
