        <abstracts>
The article analyses the visual and narrative image which is capable to provoke the affect of the crowd. For this purpose the author compares a visual number of the Greek sculptures in L. Rifenshtal’s movie “Olimpia” and Hilter’s speeches. The comparative analysis applies structural method of K. Levi-Stros, which gives the chance to compare mutually exclusive cultural images. Futhermore, the author develops the idea of separation of an image and narration (Lessing “Laokoon”) and draws a conclusion that the visual image (movie “Olimpia”) provides an idea of a new body of the nation, developing it in terms of the Ancient Greek sculpture. In addition, we can see that Hilter’s speeches exclude the aestheticization of sufferings. His speech demonstrates the Voice of the humiliated nation. Therefore, we can see the principle of synchronizm: the plasticity of the Greek sculpture represents the visual experience; the internal protest receives expression in passionate speaking, in the speech.

The article considers the participation of Orthodox priests in the Soviet resistance movemente in occupied territories of the Northwest of Russia during the Great Patriotic War. On the basis of the analysis of the insufficiently studied archival sources and Russian historiography the position of Orthodox clergy during the Nazi occupation were examined. The authors pay attention to the fact that priests found themselves at the center of ideological confrontation of the Nazi and Soviet propaganda. Nazi occupants laid their hopes on the religious factor in their propagandistic policy, therefore they have revived religious cult. In turn, only the beginning of 1942 members of an underground and partisans realized the importance of involvement of clergy to fight against the invaders. Since 1942 the priests actively helped partisans, carrying out reconnaissance and sometimes acts of terrorism. Also they carried out The anti-nazi agitation and propaganda among the population and provided the means to the defense fund. As a result the authors has come to the conclusion that, despite the previous repression against the Russian Orthodox Church, many priests supported the Soviet resistance movement. Contrary to the expectations of the Nazis that the churches became the center of anti-Soviet propaganda, they became centers of Russian national identity.

The article looks into the problem of migrant children denationalization; it’s dedicated to one the ways of fighting it, so-called Day of the Russian Child, which was one of the top three most significant celebrations for migrants along with the Russian Culture Day and Intransigence Day. Despite its late appearance – the end of the 1920s – it very quickly became one of the most beloved celebrations among migrants, who had been celebrating it up to the beginning of the World War II almost in all countries inhabited by migrants. The research is based on the archival documents stored at the so-called “Prague Archive” (The State Archive of the Russian Federation, GARF, Moscow) as well as migrant periodicals of the period under review. The author analyses the primal causes of the appearance of the day, tasks allotted on it by the migrants and the way they have transformed during the time as the true state of the migrant children in foreign countries and their needs exposed themselves.

The authors understand personality as a historical phenomenon which is the degree of man’s inner motivation and also as a relative independence from the outer social conditions. The article considers the main ideas of Ancient Greek religion, art and philosophy as the evidence of personal self-consciousness and independent action in the ancient world and claims that this is the result and the condition of the ancient world social practices. Such practices were the democratic mechanisms of the Ancient Greek society. Thus, the culture of this country and time became the starting point of the European cultural development with its system of basic values.

        <abstracts>
Concern of an individual about himself was an important element of philosophical reflection in Antiquity. A spinning top, a mirror, security, audit served as metaphors of concern. The most frequently used metaphor was that of medicine with a detailed description of when, to whom and by whom it was prescribed, in what amount and succession to handle it. In the philosophy of the twentieth century, concern is defined in the works of M. Foucault and P. Hadot. Its structure comprises ethical substance, mode of subjection, ascetic practices and telos. Concern of an individual about himself is transformed under the influence of technological development and media environment; it is constitutive for modern culture practices and appears metaphorically in the form of the slogan "it's great to live." As an existential guideline concern is efficient in the modus "it's great to be", as opposed to the embodied selfish view "it's great to have".

It has been very difficult to distinguish Good from Evil and to understand a stream of the information in connection with absence of accurate ideology and an accurate moral reference points in russia during last decades. In given article sights at categories “Good” and “Evil” Russian orthodox philosophers are presented: N.O. Lossky, N.A. Berdjaeva, S.N. Bulgakov, I.A. Ilyin, F.M. Dostoevsky, etc. The good category is presented and as set of three human feelings – shame, pity, awe, and as active love to the Creator, carried out through a chastity prism, and as full, unconditional contrast to harm and incompatibility with it. Good practically is not considered as a certain moral category, and it is perceived by philosophers exclusively as a spiritual category. Evil is considered as a full absolute non-existence, as nothing, in contrast to which is created the whole world, and as specific moral changes in a person and in a society, and as absolutely dependent category, and as historical and vital necessity. The concept of evil of Russian philosophy appears as limiting generalisation of all negative in the world and the person, closely connected with a free will of people.

        <abstracts>
The stages of preparing undergraduates for conducting scientific research in the spheres of translation and foreign language teaching methodology are described in the article. On each stage students are involved in cooperative cognitive activities ranging from lexical and grammar reproductive exercises to scientific-research tasks. Some of these stages were tested in class and involved undergraduates studying linguistics. At entry-level stages the students who were fluent in English helped their groupmates with doing the assignments, whereas at the advanced level the activities could be described as equal participation in scientific research. The above mentioned technique of practising research activities was applied in teaching first-, second- and third-year linguistics majors. A research assignment done by the students so that the efficiency of the proposed technique could be checked, indicated that the average performance in research-related components was much higher in the experimental groups.
