          <artTitle lang="ENG">Notes on digital communication modi</artTitle>
        </artTitles>

          <abstract lang="ENG">The present paper draws a sketch of modern understanding of communication in internet/digital space. The point of departure is the assumption about the communicative channel or the medium used as one of the crucial constituents of meaning making process in communication. Based on this assumption, the paper follows the main trajectories and research trends in looking at modi of production and circulating of texts and meanings in digital space. It shows that there are several foci in analyzing the network communication – that on shared knowledge and social practices of sharing knowledge and values within and across internet space; on new approaches to identity construction in new media; on wider range of semiotic resources for constructing and translating identities and meanings. The network communication gives also a special perspective on multimodality as the co-presence of various semiotic modes in a given text/message. It provides multimodality as a technique and a competence which guarantees communication intelligibility. In conclusion, it is stressed that the view to internet (digital) communication is not to be restricted to its technical standards and technical breakthroughs but suggests a more general reflection of its social framework. There is no ‘digital economics’ or ‘digital education’ as offline, stand-alone projects, they have socially embedded and socially sensitive dimensions.</abstract>

          <artTitle lang="ENG">Public discourse in the context of the coronavirus pandemic: the parrhesia return</artTitle>

          <abstract lang="ENG">The public coronavirus discourse analysis is important for understanding the characteristics of modern social communication. The content dynamics has specially interest in the first months of the pandemic. In these processes, reality understanding is formed and broadcast. This understanding is done always from some position, in a certain sense. The self-awareness formation process is nothing more than the positioning of such an understanding. In this regard, any content of social communication in a sense, relatively speaking, is like fakes. Therefore, it is important to shift the emphasis in the analysis from the criteria of the truth of network information to the phenomenon of "taking the word" and responsibility for what is expressed. In this regard, it is useful to use the concept of parrhesia as a free and responsible statement. This opens up the possibility of analyzing the paradoxical nature of individual rights to opinion freedom and social control, as well as building the necessary balance of rights and responsibilities in public social communication. Such an analysis shows that the coronary virus pandemic not only fully fits into this general global civilizational trend of alarm and horrorization, but also strengthened them. At the same time, along with large-scale horrorization, its alternative sprouts, which is clearly expressed in the indicated trend of public coronavirus discourse. This is a request for a balanced responsible word or even silence, in other words – a request for manifestation in a public discourse of personal freedom as responsibility. In the context of total digitalization, this responsibility is taking on more and more dimensions, which are the most serious challenges to traditional ideas about morality and law. In the modern digitalized information society, positive parrhesia is not the privilege of a few, but the moral testing duty of the word-takers.</abstract>

          <artTitle lang="ENG">Commemorative events in the symbolic space of modern Russia: state strategies and cultural practices</artTitle>

          <abstract lang="ENG">The purpose of the article was to analyze public holidays, their structural and functional characteristics in modern Russian society. The authors noted that for any state the transformation of memorial culture is inherent. This is manifested both in a change in the system of memorable dates and in the symbolic recoding of their content. The research methodology was a synthesis of the actor-network, praxeological and systemic approaches. The actor-network approach focuses on the holiday as a set of actions and interests of various actors, which allows us to raise the question of a unique set of factors leading to the emergence and consolidation of a memorable date. The praxeological approach has introduced an aspect of dynamism into the consideration of public holidays, examining their relationship with everyday cultural practices, also revealing the inverse effect of practices on the transformation of symbolic meanings. The systematic approach allowed for a comprehensive perception of the various elements of commemorative practices with a view to their social and philosophical reflection. Based on three public holidays the authors have analyzed the structural-functional and cultural-semiotic aspects of the inclusion of these memorable dates in the symbolic landscape of modern Russian society. The author's contribution is seen in the formation of a methodology for the study of holidays and symbolic dates based on an analysis of political relevance, public perception and the praxeological component. From this point of view, one can state the inconsistency of the system of public holidays in modern Russia, which is due to the following reasons: the transformation of the symbolic meaning of memorable dates in the context of changing relationships of political actors, the situational nature of holidays as elements of the state memory policy, and the lack of elaboration of praxeological grounds.</abstract>

          <artTitle lang="ENG">Semantic interpretations of the word-combination “clean sport” in the context of doping scandals in the media</artTitle>

          <abstract lang="ENG">The doping scandals caused by the disqualification of Russian athletes, their exclusion from the lists of participants of the Olympic games led to a rather twisted interpretation of its’ meaning. The mass media began to use the phrase as a tool of speech manipulation in public domain. In Western media materials this combination contributes to the creation of a negative image of Russian sport in the minds of the mass audience. “Clean sport” in such passages is a benchmark to which sport in Russia does not correspond. In the Russian media “clean sport” is sometimes used with a touch of irony: journalists themselves suggest that professional sport is impossible without doping, therefore "clean sport" is a sport where the signs of doping drugs are skillfully concealed. A substantial analysis of media materials leads to the conclusion that the combination of "clean sport" is only a cover in the political struggle of competing states. In the mass perception, a real professional athlete does not use stimulants.</abstract>

          <artTitle lang="ENG">Linguistic aspects and methodology of analysis of Czech on-line sports reporting (as a hybrid genre)</artTitle>

          <abstract lang="ENG">In the sphere of contemporary computer-mediated communication, there are some new, or relatively new genres. This article focuses on one of them – on-line sports reporting (live text commentary, or minute-by-minute match report). It is a hybrid genre moving between the sphere of media sport communication (in professional commentaries) and ordinary, everyday communication (in the chats of fans); between written and spoken communication; between the informative function (providing factual information) and the entertainment one (as typical infotainment); and between the chronologically structured narrative or description and the commentator’s evaluative formulations (“colour commentary”). The methodology used for the analysis of this hybrid genre combines the approach of stylistics, pragmalinguistics, sociolinguistics, (critical) discourse analysis and conversation analysis. As for the data, the article deals with Czech live text commentaries, mainly from football, hockey and tennis matches.</abstract>

          <abstract lang="ENG">The digitalization has affected all areas of communication, significant changes have occurred in the educational environment. This paper discusses the possibilities of including digital texts in the educational process. Digital longform Journalism has recently attracted increased attention among Internet users, including teachers. Сonsequently Digital Longform journalistic works must be considered not only in terms of journalism but also as an effective learning material. Potential of digital technologies is to integrate photographs, videos, information graphics, audios, animation effects into educational text. The transmission of information using different semiotic systems allows us to consider Digital longform Journalism as a multimodal genre. In order to analyze the possibilities of using Digital longform Journalism in learning, educational longform text are described: we have analyzed their structural organization and content, as well as the interaction of verbal and audiovisual components. As a result of the study ways of using Digital longform Journalism in the educational process are proposed: It can be used for the presentation of educational material and as the form of the final student project.</abstract>

          <artTitle lang="ENG">Online feedback about the food: manifestation in speech of modern Russian “consumer canon”</artTitle>

          <abstract lang="ENG">This article is devoted to the analysis of reviews about the hotel food, posted on popular Russian travel sites. It considers 150 reviews of various volume and discusses the new speech genre of Internet review as a vivid reflection of the existing system of consumer values in modern Russian society. The purpose of the research is to identify speech forms of representation of the “consumer canon” that is developing in the Russian public consciousness. The analyzed texts give reason to speak about the scenario of hotel catering that has developed in the minds of their authors. Among the most important advantages of food are diversity, high taste qualities and compliance with today's market conditions, the latest ideas about service, and the disadvantage – following the worst traditions of the past, associations with the Soviet experience. The article also considers the reflection of nationally specific culinary preferences in Internet reviews in combination with the globalized ideas of tourists about delicious food. The author indicates that the style of user of Internet reviews is significantly influenced by the advertising discourse. The researcher considers it promising to further study online reviews of nutrition with the involvement of a more diverse empirical material.</abstract>

          <artTitle lang="ENG">From experience in implementing an interdisciplinary linguistic project and network promotion of it’s scientific results</artTitle>

          <abstract lang="ENG">The article presents the experience of the research project implementation, using methods that are developed on an interdisciplinary basis. These methods adequately reflect the characteristics inherent to the stylistic stratification of the Russian literary language lexicon at the beginning of the 21st century in a normative type of the explanatory dictionary (in this case, in the “Academic Explanatory Dictionary of the Russian Language”). It is noted that such projects, aimed at solving various research problems, require the involvement of experts of a wide range of scientific specialties, that is facilitated by network communication. The authors analyze features and effectiveness of network communication of specialists working, on the one hand, in the field of linguistics (lexicography) and on the other hand, in the fields of computer science, political science, etc. It is concluded that the active involvement of specialists in the compilation of an explanatory dictionary of the modern Russian language allows lexicographers several options. Compiling a vocabulary and dictionary entries reflects both the processes of the transition of stylistically colored lexicon from one register to another and the entry of special terms of various sciences (technical and social) into the common language.</abstract>

          <artTitle lang="ENG">Regional content foreign language communicative training as a mean of preparation of “Applied informatics” programme students for international academic exchange</artTitle>

          <abstract lang="ENG">This article is devoted to the issues of developing foreign-language communicative competence of master's degree students majoring in “Applied Informatics” with a minor of “Ergodesign of user’s interface” who apply for academic exchange programmes that presuppose studying the basics of Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience Design. The authors suggest foreign language communicative training as the main technology for the development of foreign-language communicative competence. This technology presupposes creation of special conditions for intensive interpersonal interaction. The assignments of the communicative training include regional content that is connected to the field of Informatics and Computer Engineering. The regional content itself reflects the comparison of IT-sphere in Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia and the State of Washington, USA. The article contains examples of real educational cases used in the learning process. The concept of regional content is studied at micro-level and allows creating special communicative training tasks that are based on real professional communicative situations that are significant for the representatives of both regions. Regional content foreign language communicative training allows to prepare Nizhny Novgorod computer science and computer technology specialists for successful interaction with foreign colleagues in the subject of designing user-friendly interfaces s and front end development. The authors present a detailed structural description of experimental training process. The skills of foreign-language dialogic speech that are developed by the means of regional content foreign language communicative training are highlighted. The conclusion of high efficiency of the developed teaching technology is drawn on the basis of the obtained statistical and mathematical data.</abstract>

          <abstract lang="ENG">A demanded requirement and consequence of academic communication today, promoting scientific results in the global academic space, is professional bilingualism. Terminology as the main translator of new knowledge, introducing new developments and ideas into scientific use, is borrowed by active internationally published authors, bypassing the stage of unification and standardization, as a result of which scientific texts in national languages intended for national scientific journals and conference proceedings demonstrate competition between national and borrowed terminologies, while the use of terminological neologisms often indicates poor knowledge of the terminology adopted in domestic tradition. As a result, the quality of national scientific texts is rapidly deteriorating both informatively and stylistically. Discussing the ways and means of introducing new terminology seems both urgent and timely. The objectives of this study are to propose a procedure for extracting new English terminology and to describe its presentation in modern Russian scientific texts. The research bases on original text corpora compiled for a definite subject domain, namely, Internet and linguistic technologies.</abstract>

          <artTitle lang="ENG">Specifics of research article construction: a diachronic study</artTitle>

          <abstract lang="ENG">A research article is a result of scholar’s work that can be measured and must be presented in compliance with publishing conventions of a scientific journal. However, it turns out that in the same culture these conventions can change in a short period of time. The article presents the results of a contrastive analysis of research articles published in a scientific journal. The research corpus is studied with reference to two dimensions – form and content orientation, reader and writer orientation. The analysis reveals significant differences in how a research article is constructed in two different periods of time in the same culture. The conclusion is made that the changing conventions of presenting a work of science reflect transformation of academic environment and social perceptions about the role of science and scholarly activities.</abstract>

          <artTitle lang="ENG">“Web of knowledge” and the consequences of plagiarism in Russian post-academic science</artTitle>

          <abstract lang="ENG">The article reveals the content of violations of professional ethics of the scientist, analyzes the reasons for the growth of violations of academic ethics It is emphasized that plagiarism is an inevitable consequence of the pursuit of the number of publications, high University ratings, and the policy of optimization of higher education and science pursued by the Russian higher education authorities. The tolerant attitude of a part of the scientific community to plagiarism reflects the decline of morality in society and in science. The article analyzes the negative consequences of violations of the norms of deontology of science and higher education for different levels of their organization. As the most important element of the culture of modern society, science depends directly on the level of information support and interaction of participants in the creation of new knowledge, on their moral, aesthetic and legal culture. In the conditions of total computerization of scientific activity in the country, the current situation with plagiarism requires more active promotion and verification of the norms of scientific ethics and registration of scientific papers in the process of training students, masters and postgraduates of all profiles.</abstract>
