        <abstracts>
The article analyzes the specific character of the socio-economic system which resulted from the reforms of the 1990s in Russia and which exists at present. It is characterized by the unique ultraliberal ideology overemphasizing the role of money and centring on self-profit. In this context traditional values are being destroyed, moral and ethic consciousness is being eroded, cultural degradation is in effect. Modern Russian capitalism is unparalleled in the world history and non-competitive under globalization.
