Abstract:

This article provides taxonomy of legacy approaches to definition of essence of legal interest. The authors propose to attribute all existing theories to one of the two groups: either social or formally-legal. Detailed descriptions of both classes of theories are provided. A new alternative socio-legal theory that does not belong to either of the two other groups is proposed.
