Norway’s Energy Policy (history of the Svalbard Archipelago oil and gas potential development)

The article represents a retrospective review of attempts to discover oil and gas fields in the Svalbard Archipelago area in 1980-2000, as well as to analyze the archipelago's place in the structure of Norway's modern energy policy.
