Concept of legal interest in law

This article provides taxonomy of legacy approaches to definition of essence of legal interest. The author proposes to attribute all existing theories to one of the two groups: either social or formally-legal. Detailed descriptions of both classes of theories are provided. A new alternative socio-legal theory that does not belong to either of the two other groups is proposed.
