This article deals with economic and political conditions of the postwar Finland. Diplomatic background of the Finland’s joining the Marshall Plan is examined. Author exemplifies the dependency of country’s place in the system of international relations on American economic aid, underlines the influence of the Containment and acute political context of Finland’s refusal to participate in European Recovery Program (Marshall plan).
