Theatre Telegram channel as a digital tool for creating critic’s digital identity

The article regards the digital self-identification tools that contribute to converting users from homo lingualis into homo informaticus. The study considers various platforms for interpersonal communication and self-realization in the media environment, including telegram channels. The research focuses on professional telegram channels that belong to the theatrical expert community. They are either an explicit way of representing administrators’ outlooks or of a collective / anonymous nature. In both cases, they publish critical reviews along with advising on other aspects of theatrical communication. The principal research methods include the ones of context, pragmatic and discourse analyses. The author aims at studying the linguistic algorithms of critic’s self-representation, that contribute to positioning themselves as an expert and a digital personality characterized by anonymity, autonomy, free navigation in the cyberspace, subjectivity, multiple identities and linguistic creativity. The critic’s expertise is determined by competence and legitimacy, which add to professional reputation. The framework of the study implied that theater criticism was seen as the one contributing to forming an axiological vector of societal development in general as well as the one that concerns theater in particular. The value potential of the review is largely due to the reputation of a professional, which enhances the growth of the channel’s rating. The principal objective of the research was to determine the various forms of professional critic’s self-manifestation. One of them is the following: through the creative name of the channel as an instrument of effective reputation management. What was of equal importance is the study of linguistic patterns for broadcasting information attractiveness. The researcher comes to the conclusion of theatre critic’s reputation being the result of two-way interaction with the audience.
