Problems of higher education institutes graduates’ job placement and adaptation at the workplace in Leningrad (Saint-Petersburg) from 1980 to 2000: comparative historical analysis

In the article, the author gives definitions for social and psychological adaptation of higher school graduates and professional career and compares conditions of professional career building in historic retrospective over the past few years of the Soviet Union existence and during the restructuring period in the Russian society. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the changes that occurred during specialist training in the period of Leningrad Polytechnic Institute transformation into Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University.
