“Web of knowledge” and the consequences of plagiarism in Russian post-academic science
The article reveals the content of violations of professional ethics of the scientist, analyzes the reasons for the growth of violations of academic ethics It is emphasized that plagiarism is an inevitable consequence of the pursuit of the number of publications, high University ratings, and the policy of optimization of higher education and science pursued by the Russian higher education authorities. The tolerant attitude of a part of the scientific community to plagiarism reflects the decline of morality in society and in science. The article analyzes the negative consequences of violations of the norms of deontology of science and higher education for different levels of their organization. As the most important element of the culture of modern society, science depends directly on the level of information support and interaction of participants in the creation of new knowledge, on their moral, aesthetic and legal culture. In the conditions of total computerization of scientific activity in the country, the current situation with plagiarism requires more active promotion and verification of the norms of scientific ethics and registration of scientific papers in the process of training students, masters and postgraduates of all profiles.
