Graduated from Irkutsk Linguistic University in 1983. In 1993 she received an Academic Degree of Candidate of Sciences (Pedagogics) “Theory and Methodology of Foreign Languages Teaching” at Moscow State Linguistic University and in 2002 an Academic Degree of Doctor of Didactics “General Didactics. The History of Didactics and Education” at Chelyabinsk State University. In 2004 was honored with Academic Status of Professor at the Chair of Foreign Language Teaching Methodology. Elena Tareva took the positions of Associate Professor, Professor, Head of French Language Chair at Irkutsk State University. From 2004 to 2010 worked as Professor, of the Chair of Linguodidactics at Moscow State Linguistic University. Since 2010she has been working as Professor, Head of French Language and Linguodidactics Chair at Moscow City University. At present she takes the position of Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages at Moscow City University.
