Characteristics of foreign language education in Russian universities at the present stage

This article outlines the main feature of modern foreign language education in the Russian higher school, defined as multiparadigmatic. A brief description of previous educational paradigms is presented, and common principles of modern teaching approaches forming a multiparadigmatic teaching context are formulated. Reflects the authors’ understanding of such invariant characteristic of modern foreign language education process as innovation.
